On Monday, a security source in Anbar Governorate reported hearing strong explosions within the Ain al-Asad base facility, just hours after US Secretary of State Anthony Blicken left for Baghdad.
According to the report, “Violent explosions were heard inside the Ain Al-Asad air base in the Al-Baghdadi district of Hit district, west of Anbar, resulting from the American forces being exposed to a missile attack.”
He went on to say, “The American forces completely closed the base, which includes buildings belonging to the security forces, and prevented the movement of their forces, while warplanes and drones flew over the base building for fear of learning about the losses suffered by the American side.”
He stated that “American forces subjected the base building to a variety of attacks.”
