Moeen Al-Kadhimi, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, accused the United States of America on Saturday of exerting pressure on the Central Bank of Iraq by prohibiting the Federal Bank from accessing cash.

According to Al-Kadhimi, “American dominance over the work of the Central Bank must be consistent with the vision of the Federal Reserve and the American Treasury.”

“The Central Bank of Iraq is making efforts to reach merchants’ remittances all over the world,” he continued.

According to Al-Kadhimi, “remittances issued by the Central Bank of Iraq to merchants for the purpose of importing goods continue despite American pressure.”

Mustafa Sanad, a member of Parliamentary Finance, earlier affirmed that America is spearheading colonialism and international blackmail against Iraq by increasing the dollar exchange rate, condemning the political blocs’ silence on the issue.
