Muhammad Al-Sayhud, a member of the House of Representatives, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the Iraqi judiciary has proven that it is up to the challenges following the decision to terminate the membership of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, while emphasizing that the decision is not a dismissal from the position, but rather a dismissal, which means that Al-Halbousi will no longer be able to practice political work.
In an interview with Maalouma Agency, Al-Sayhud stated that “there is no fear for the political process in light of such strict, courageous, and legal decisions,” adding that “the Federal Court succeeded in overcoming all the serious challenges facing the political process.”
He went on to say: “The federal decision is proportional to the extent of the great fraud that came out from the head of the highest legislative authority in the country,” and added that “the decision is not a dismissal, but rather a removal from the position, meaning that Al-Halbousi will no longer be able to practice political work.”
Earlier today, the Federal Supreme Court dismissed Speaker of the House of Representatives Muhammad al-Halbousi’s membership in Parliament following a complaint brought by lawmaker Laith al-Dulaimi, in which the court demonstrated the latter’s involvement in fraud.
