The Israeli Ministry of Education said today, Monday, that climate campaigner Greta Thunberg would be removed from the school curriculum after she shared a photo in which she expressed sympathy with Palestinians in Gaza.
Greta Thunberg, commonly known as the “Climate Kid,” tweeted a photo of herself with pals carrying a banner that read, “Stand with Gaza,” and calling for an urgent ceasefire on X (previously Twitter).
“Today we strike in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza,” Greta Thunberg stated. According to the Euro News website, “the world must speak out and demand an immediate ceasefire as well as justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians.”
In response, the Israeli Ministry of Education stated, “Hamas is a terrorist organization that has killed 1,400 innocent Israelis, including children, women, and the elderly, and kidnapped over 200 people to Gaza.” This position will rob her (Greta Thunberg) of the ability to serve as an educational and moral role model, and she will no longer be able to do so. She is equipped to serve as a role model and instructor for Israeli children.”
