Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani reaffirmed on Sunday that the world still requires fossil fuels, as global demand for oil rises.
According to the “Sky News Arabia” website, Abdul Ghani stated in a speech during the United Nations Climate Week in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, that both fossil fuels and clean energy sources require massive investments, and Baghdad has shifted its focus toward using natural gas to generate electricity.
In a comparable vein, the Iraqi minister predicted that demand for oil will climb by nearly two million barrels per day next year, emphasizing the importance of fossil fuels.
It is worth noting that the Iraqi government’s financial profits from crude oil exports last September were 9.5 billion dollars, with Iraq exporting around 103 million barrels of oil.
