Informed political sources reported today, Sunday, that Sunni political parties, in addition to Shia political parties, received messages from Iran, Turkey, and Qatar on the election of the next president of the Iraqi parliament.
The sources told Shafaq News Agency, “Prominent leadership figures in the Sovereignty Alliance, led by Khamis Al-Khanjar, and the Al-Azm Alliance, led by Muthanna Al-Samarrai, received unannounced communications from Iran, Turkey and Qatar, to discuss choosing the new speaker of parliament, with the need to quickly resolve this issue before the elections.” Provincial councils”.
According to the report, “Parties in the Shiite coordination framework received unannounced communications from Iran to discuss choosing an alternative to Al-Halbousi, and to emphasize the need for the Shiite political forces to have a say in choosing the new Speaker of Parliament.”
On Tuesday, November 14, the Federal Supreme Court issued an order terminating the membership of House Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi based on a “forgery” case brought by Representative Laith al-Dulaimi.
