Turki Al-Otbi, the coordination framework’s chairman, delivered the most important files of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani during his visit to Moscow on Saturday.

According to Al-Utbi, in an interview with Al- “Iraqi-Russian relations extend for many decades, and the latter had a positive stance in supporting Baghdad after the events of June 2014 by accelerating the pace of delivering military equipment, including combat aircraft.”

He went on to say, “The Sudanese visit to Moscow in a few days will discuss 7 vital files, most notably military and economic cooperation, especially with the presence of giant oil companies, in addition to the possibility of opening doors for Russian companies to invest in the fields of energy, construction and industry.”

He also said that “Iraq’s neutral position in the Ukrainian crisis will enhance the prospects for the relationship with Russia, which is an important player in the global energy market in addition to being an important source of weapons, including the S-400 systems.”

The Kremlin had already stated that Iraq’s Prime Minister will visit Moscow and meet with Putin next week.
