Federal Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani stated his commitment to the general budget legislation and dealing with the region’s budget entitlement based on the general budget law passed by the House of Representatives. Concerning the outbreak of the crisis that erupted around the building of the advanced headquarters of the Joint Operations Command in Kirkuk, which the Democratic Party abandoned following the referendum, the Prime Minister confirmed that Federal Ministers will prosecute those accused of martyring and injuring citizens in Kirkuk.
“There are numbers and statistics that govern everyone’s budget entitlements,” said Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani in a statement to the Kurdsat News satellite station. “We, in turn, are committed to the general budget law.”
“We deal with the region’s share on the basis of the general budget law,” the Federal Council Prime Minister added. “We are also awaiting the result of hosting the Minister of Finance of Iraq and the region to the Finance Committee and the House of Representatives to address budget-related disputes.”
Concerning the recent tensions and disturbances in Kirkuk over the Democratic Party building, which was abandoned following the Kurdistan Region referendum and is now occupied by the General Command of Joint Operations, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stated, “Kirkuk must be removed from disputes and conflicts, and we will remove anyone whose hands are dirty.” “It will be transformed into law with the blood of Kirkuk’s citizens.”
