US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is set to arrive in Baghdad tomorrow, Sunday, at a time when American outposts in Iraq and Syria are under attack by Iraqi militias.
According to a government source, “The US Secretary of State will make an official visit tomorrow, Sunday, to the capital, Baghdad, during which he will meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani and his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein,” adding that “the visit comes to discuss developments in the situation in the region following the war in Gaza” .
“The US Secretary of State’s discussions will focus on the armed factions’ escalation of attacks against American targets and interests, as well as delivering warning messages that Washington will respond.
