An American military officer said yesterday, Thursday, that his country’s soldiers were assaulted four times in Iraq and Syria with missiles and armed drones.
According to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, American and foreign forces were assaulted in two areas in northeastern Syria with several missiles and a suicide drone.
Several suicide drones were fired from the Ain al-Asad air base west of Baghdad, while another was launched from a site housing American personnel near Erbil airport in Iraq’s Kurdistan region.
According to a US military official, as of Thursday, 36 attacks have happened in Iraq and 37 in Syria.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq began an attack on an American facility in Syria yesterday, Thursday.
The rebels said in a statement sent to “Al-Ma’louma” as follows: “in response to the crimes committed by the enemy against our people in Gaza, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted the American occupation base in the Koniko oil field in Syria, with a missile salvo.”
