On Wednesday, a security source said that US forces had installed a new anti-missile and anti-aircraft system to safeguard the Ain al-Asad air base west of Anbar.

According to the source, Al-Ma’louma Agency “The American forces stationed began deploying a battery of missile defense systems at Ain Al-Asad air base in the Al-Baghdadi district of Hit district, west of Anbar, against the backdrop of the failure of the current defense system and its inability to intercept the drone and missiles launched by the Islamic Resistance.” “which led to human and material losses among the American forces.”

He went on to say, “The name of the new missile system is not known, but information indicates that it is one of the advanced defensive systems that works to target any foreign object above the Ain al-Asad air base,” adding that “the deployment of an anti-missile and anti-aircraft system came against the backdrop of the failure of the current system.”

It is worth noting that American forces stationed at the Ain al-Asad base, west of Anbar, were subjected to drone and missile attacks from the Islamic Resistance Axis in order to support the Palestinian resistance and reiterate their opposition to the presence of American combat forces inside Iraqi territory.
