Al-Saadi: Closing the American embassy does not serve Iraq, and Parliament will hold an emergency session

State of Law coalition delegate Baqir al-Saadi said today, Wednesday, that the House of Representatives would have an extraordinary session on the Palestinian problem next week, signaling that removing the American embassy is not a viable option for Iraq.

Al-Saadi stated in a statement to Al- “The House of Representatives will hold an emergency session next week, on Sunday or Monday, to discuss the repercussions of the situation in Palestine, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani will attend.”

He went on to say, “The emergency session will include some decisions that will be voted on by the House of Representatives and taken by the government regarding what is happening in Gaza and Palestine in general.”

He went on to say, “Iraq was the first and the Sudanese position was clear in standing and supporting the Palestinian brothers and was the first to take the initiative to provide support and aid as well.”

He went on to say, “The option of closing the American embassy does not serve Iraq and its interests.”
