The Sadiqoun bloc’s spokesperson, Zainab Jumah al-Moussawi, affirmed today, Sunday, that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani’s visit to New York opened the door to foreign investment in Iraq.

“The visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to attend the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York will open the door for foreign companies to invest in Iraq,” Al-Moussawi said in a statement received by the Al-Ma’louma Agency.

She said, “We noticed the influx of heads of state to the Prime Minister’s residence, which is evidence of the eagerness of those countries to enter Iraqi lands to invest in them.”

Al-Moussawi suggested “removing obstacles to the entry of foreign investors into Iraq,” pointing out that “investments in various sectors contribute to improving the infrastructure and superstructure and absorbing unemployment rates in addition to the entry of foreign currency into the country.”
