On Sunday, the head of the Parliamentary Rights Bloc, MP Saud Al-Saadi, demanded that the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and the Minister of Justice, Khaled Shawani, explain their legal actions in response to the Iraqi Parliament’s Resolution No. (18) of 2020, which calls for the withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraqi territory.

Al-Saadi, in a statement obtained by Shafaq News Agency, asked for “clarifying the reasons for not publishing the decision in the Official Gazette.”

According to the statement, Al-Saadi attached the wording of the decision sent by the House of Representatives to the Presidents of the Republic, Ministers, and the Minister of Justice.

The Iraqi Parliament voted on a resolution urging that Baghdad endeavor to remove foreign soldiers from the nation on January 5, 2020.

The decision occurred two days after Washington executed Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Iranian Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, chief of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, in an air attack near Baghdad airport.
