On Saturday, an Iraqi official source indicated that the Iraqi delegation to the Cairo Peace Conference, led by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, will depart immediately if Israel is represented.
According to the source, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed from the Egyptian side that there would be no representation of Israel at the Cairo peace conference before accepting his participation.
According to the source, the Iraqi delegation will leave if anyone representing Israel is there.
On the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Al-Sudani landed in Cairo this morning to join a “peace” meeting to address the Gaza conflict.
Earlier, Tunisian and Algerian media stated that “Tunisia and Algeria” are boycotting the Cairo Summit, which opens today, Saturday, in Egypt’s capital, since an Israeli delegation is there.
According to Tunisian Radio Mosaique and Algerian daily Al-Shorouk, Israel will send a diplomatic team to the summit, along with a group from the United States and envoys from Russia and China, despite a boycott by Tunisia and Algeria.
