Former Pentagon advisor Douglas MacGregor said it was a disgrace that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had to wear a protective vest during his tour to Iraq.

“Blinken wore a bulletproof vest during his visit to Iraq,” he stated in his letter. “It is truly a real shame that our Secretary of State would, under any circumstances, be exposed to such a threat anywhere in the world.”

Iraqis burnt images of US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last Sunday at a major rally attended by thousands of Sadrist movement members, including Muqtada al-Sadr, in protest of Blinken’s visit to Iraq.

Protesters yelled chants against the visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry and in support of Palestine.

In a statement issued today, Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq reported the bombing of an American outpost near the Conico gas field in Syria’s northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

On October 10, Abu Hussein Al-Hamidawi, the Secretary-General of the Hezbollah Brigades movement in Iraq, vowed to strike American bases in Iraq if the US engaged in the Gaza conflict.
